Human Rights Activity 3:
1.     Working in pairs, go to Google Maps (or a similar site) and download an image of the map of the city of Abu Dhabi. It may be a part of Abu Dhabi rather than the whole city. It should include homes, major public buildings (e.g., parks, schools, mosques) and public services (e.g., hospitals, fire department, police station) and any other places that are important to the community (e.g., grocery stores, mall, gas stations). If they are not on the map, you should add them in the correct places.

2.     Analyze your map from a human rights perspective. What human rights do they associate with different places on their maps? For example, a mosque with freedom of thought and religion; the school with the right to education; the post office with the right to information, to privacy, and to self-expression. As they identify these rights, they should look up the relevant article(s) in the UDHR and write the article number(s) next to that place on the map.

3.     Present the map to the whole class.
·         Did any parts of your map have a high concentration of rights? How do you explain this?
No, because it’s an industrial area.
·         Did any parts have few or no rights associations? How do you explain this?

No, because it’s around the map.

·         Are there any articles of the UDHR that seem to be especially exercised in this community? How can this be explained?

Yes, article three, because there are police stations everywhere.
·        Are there any articles of the UDHR that no group included on their map? How can this be explained?

No

How could town/city planners might use information like this when they develop areas for their citizens?
They can use the information by distributing the rights around the community so it will be easy for the citizens to reach anywhere.

Maslow’s Human Needs - Exercise #2

Human Needs Activity 2: Exercise #2

Working in groups, discuss and answer the following questions:

1.     Does every human being have the right to reach the top of the Maslow pyramid?

Yes, every human have the right to reach top of the Maslow pyramid.

2.     Does every human being have the capability of reaching that level?
No, not every one is capable of reaching that level, because there are poor people on this planet who don't even have the basic needs and people who don't have creativity.

3.     What are the opportunities are needed to get to the higher level?
They have to work hard enough to reach the higher level and they need their family/friends support.

4.     What are the obstacles could stand in the way of reaching these levels?
Security problems, money problems, and being abused from the world

5.     What could you do to help others to reach the higher levels?
I can give them my support to reach higher levels.

Volunteering project - Day 4 Thu - Last day

Finally, in the last day of our volunteering project we went to the ice rink in the morning. when we got there we didn't find anyone playing matches, just some players training and others entertaining themselves outside with the ball and exercising their body. so it was a fortunate thing for me because I didn't make an interview yet that moment , but I found someone interesting and he speaks English fluently so, that makes me relaxed because I didn't have to translate the interview. and that was pretty much it for . And there's a picture from the interview i did with some of the Taipei Chinese national team.

Volunteering Project - Day 3 Wed

On the third day on our volunteering project we were focused on the people around the rink to get them away from the rink for their safety because the wall might be broken somewhere or not well-tight , so we just stood there and didn't let anyone near the ice rink, that was our first mission on the day. then we  went to our home to take a break so we can return to meet the UAE national team, unfortunately we didn't talk to them nor take a photo so, we just took a photo of them while they were playing. As it shows below.

And Sorry about being late and not publishing it yesterday, because when i got back i was really tired and I just slept all night long.

Volunteering project - Day 2 Tue

in the second day in takatof which is today because yesterday we took a day off for some reason, we did organize the 150 gifts we made the first day, and moved them to a better place to make it easy and fast to give them to the players who are playing this tournament. unfortunately, today there were no games they just practiced. So, some of us did carry boxes of water to provide to the players who are training.

Volunteering Project - Day 1 Sun

In the first day volunteering with takatof we volunteered to organize and help people in the hockey championship that is going on in  Zayed sport city. So, as it was our first day they didn't go hard on us they just asked us to organize gifts to the players as it shown in the pictures below, they explained what should be in each bag and we did it. so, that was pretty much it in the first day. and they gave us a break 30 minutes to have our lunch.
